Scripture Search helps you find Bible passages by what they mean. Describe a situation or a feeling in your own words, or type a few words you remember, and it shows you the Scripture itself with the chapter around it. It only ever shows Scripture.

How search works

Your words are matched to passages by meaning, and to the exact words in the text. This happens on your device, so once the app has loaded it works without a connection, and nothing you type is sent anywhere. There are no accounts, no ads and no tracking. Saved passages and notes stay on this device. A link you share holds only the collection’s name and its passage references, never your notes.

Cross-references are from OpenBible.info, licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0). Changes made: references with at least one vote were kept, the ten strongest for each verse, and stored in a compact file.

Software and search model

Searching by meaning uses the open BGE-small-en-v1.5 model from BAAI (MIT licence), and the app is built with open-source software. Each one’s licence and notice is in the full list of licences.
